So this is the beginning of the cockpit well. Bob Perry had done an article for CW on cockpit ergonomics, and I used his recommended dimensions for the basics. I had seen a T shaped cockpit on a Swan 44 in Antigua which I liked, and I had pictures of that taped on the wall. I made a T shaped ellipse in 11 gauge cor-10, and tilted it to the 11 degree angle which matched the angle on the back of the pilot house. Laying out and fitting it was very tricky; radiused corners everywhere.
